Homemade granola is a great way to start the day. I use walnuts, but you could use pecan halves, chopped almonds or chopped cashews. I also add falxseed sometimes.

Valentine B&B Granola
6 cups Large flake rolled oats
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup chopped walnuts
¾ cup sunflower seeds
1/3 cup sesame seeds
1 cup coconut
1 cup water
½ cup honey
½ cup brown sugar, packed
6 tbsp. Oil
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 tsp. Maple flavoring
1 cup raisins or dried cranberries
combine first 6 ingredients in bowl
measure water, honey, sugar, oil, vanilla & maple flavoring into saucepan. Heat and stir until liquid. Pour over dry mixture. Stir well to coat. Divide between two large ungreased baking sheets with sides. Bake on separate racks in 300 F oven for 30- 40 minutes, stirring after each 10 minutes.
Stir in raisins. Cool before storing in airtight container
